Actually the Mycenae civilization (Mediterranean area) was based on matriarchy, it was dominant power at that period of time and had strong economy and peace.

The fall of the power often associated either with Dorian invasion (ie fall of matriarchy) or Vulcan eruption

f

Actually yes, my mother and my bf. I don't have secrets from my mother and I would never accept to be in relationship with a guy with whom I have to pretend to be someone else, if that makes sense.

Guys just love...how cold and wicked you can be!

So true... *laughs and runs away*

A wise person (not me) once said:

1.The best dating advice, the one piece of wisdom which gets repeated countless times but which is unfortunately rarely heeded, is to get to a point where you LIKE your life and its direction before trying to include someone else in it. Two of the biggest things people find attractive in potential partners are self-confidence and self-assuredness, both of which flow from this.

2. If you want a partner because you're lonely, then the fact that you're lonely will make you come across as desperate, and lower the ease with which you can get into a relationship as well as (possibly) the quality of the people you'll be able to attract. If your basic social needs aren't being met right now, then if nothing else use volunteer work to meet them, so that you already have a full life, filled with something you believe in, before taking the step of including someone else.

3. If you find yourself constantly thinking "What is this person thinking of me?" or "What could I say or how could I act to impress him or her more," rather than "Wow, I'm really curious why she's interested in X or Y or Z" or "I'm enjoying this conversation" or even "Hey, the food is great here!" then you're probably indulging in insecurity rather than actually enjoying yourself. And life is too short not to enjoy yourself :)

4. Don't pretend to be anyone other than yourself. In addition to the fact that people are better at picking up on insincerity than you think, faking it just isn't fun.

5. Know what your goals in life are, and why they're important to you.

Pretty nice set of advises, don't you think?

f

Erm... why would you want to trick her anyway? It's always better idea to discuss things. Show her that she can trust you.

f

You can see the ways you can level in this thread

That should answer your question.

Quote by Maiketh69Apparently, it started off when Tezuka's Astro Boy was
released, and it
was claimed that his animation style was influenced by Walt Disney,
y'know, the big eyes. It's been a while, so forgive me if this isn't
right. I guess its kinda stuck now as one of the characteristics of
anime. I agree with the others here that it gives the characters more
freedom to express feelings/emotions.
Hopefully, someone else will be able to elaborate on this. :)

Yep I remember those big eyes in Walt Disney's cartoons. It was on
Mickey Mouse during the time when movie is stilll in black and white
and have no audio.

Third that, anime was influensed by Walt Disney's cartoons so were the big eyes

Quote by Sheqeli should seperate the level in 'artisitc level' and 'participation level' sometimes.. is that something?

please don't, pretty please? *makes puppy eyes*. Better spend time coding more useful things. :)

Why someone should care what level a user on minitokyo is? As far as I know minitokyo don't have popularity contest, it's silly.

I agree with sammo, user level is just a number it doesn't mean anything and it doesn't worth the fuss. Popularity contests are very hypocritical, ego stroking and unfriendly. Ok, so a one person will have popularity of 100 and the other of 1, who cares?

It kind of reminds me of kindergarten ^^;

f

Everything will go down the hole at some point it's the natural process of things, so I don't really care, I do however like the gmail service at this point.

f

haha, this was a good laugh

Just with my name the ideal job is Nun o.O
With my name and surname it became Trained Assassin
And with candyloop alias it's Brain Surgeon

*ponders* Nun by day, assassin by night and brain surgery as a hobby, maybe

ISTP

You're a realist who applies expediency and reasoning as you manage and adapt to situations...you are aware of what is going on in the environment and are able to respond quickly to the actual facts, making sure the odds are in your favor...

You're straight-forward, pragmatic, honest people who prefer action to conversation..you have a good understanding of the way things work, and are not pretentious...analytical...you tend to make logical and private decisions, stating things the way you see 'em...

don't like to be tied down and don't like working in a structure or schedule...you need to anticipate immediate practical needs in situations and to present a logical straightforward plan for meeting those needs...

Curious and observant... convinced only by hard, reliable facts...veritable storehouses of information...realist able to capitalize well on available resources... quiet and reserved...appear cool and aloof and are inclined toward shyness, except with good friends...

You operate on impulse....you learn best when you can observe first-hand in a one-on-one situation...prefer to learn alone...you thrive on excitement and action...probably like outdoors and sports....good trouble shooter...you lead through action...by setting an example...you'd prefer to managed loosely at work so bossman isn't breathing down your neck.

It's important to pursue your interests.. you will do what it takes to make time or money for your leisure-time pursuits (like pay for a Storm Palace subscription?) ....you like to have the latest and finest equipment for whatever your hobby is...you probably get turned on just reading the Trivial Pursuit cards just to learn the information....

Love? Responsive yet realistic, huh? You seek partners who'll give you your freedom (especially for hobbies and interests) or will at least participate in 'em with you....you're attentive to the little things that your partner will like..you like to surprise them with gifts and stuff... you'd rather show your feelings through actions than express them with words....

When scorned by a love, you don't share it with the world... you're usually not vindictive when the relationship is over...you don't give up easily on the relationship unless you're convinced by the evidence.

Things to be careful about: difficult to share your reactions...look for the shortcut or the easy way...slack off occassionally....develop a step- by-step plan...don't keep important things to yourself...you might take in so much information that you feel overwhelmed by it...you may be hesitant to make decisions....this makes you appear undirected...don't move on to new tasks before your other ones bear fruit...

There is no efficient way to kill the niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeee messages with a code, whoever want to bypass the 64 chara limitation will bypass it, the only way to deal with it is to report the offender.

Quote by TenchiFan... or perhaps Ghilbi is trying to mold its image to match a successful
international player like Disney...... :)

That's another very possible thing :). Now with Miyazaki retiring I wonder how things will evolve.

f

Sorry, as far as I know it hasn't been translated in any language...except thai o.o;. It's really old manga, you know.

f

Erm... the only 'Interview with Vampire' manga I know of is shounen-ai manga by Udoh Shinohara.
Do you mean this one? There is nothing much to tell about it, it's basicaly interpretation of novel by Anne Rice's of the same name. It was published by Animage Comics, kind of old manga.

f

It was dubbed as Disney of the east, because at time it was one of the biggest production companies for animation in Japan. Also from what I know Disney has reserved rights for dubbing Studio Chibily projects so I'm guessing Miyazaki himself don't mind been compared to Disney, although personally I enjoy his work much more than Disney, Disney is overrated especially as of late.

At the other hand I don't think that his films is rather shocking for children, I find Disney be too cheesy with too much honey on the top but that's a totally personal observation.

f

To your original question everything that is part of person life can act as inadvertent behaviour modification games is also part of that. Thing is that everything affect everyone in different way because everyone receive things differently. Saying that violent games create violent people is incorrect because each individual react different to a game, for some it can increase gore tolerance and made them more indifferent to idea of death others will have no such side effect, it all comes down to each person character and as Alereborg said it depends on the consciousness about consequences of the behaviour in society for each individual.

At the other hand blaming parents for every wrong the child makes is also wrong because child character is build not only within a family but also within any social circle the child is involved and family is the smallest of them all, there is school, friends etc etc.

Quote by XenjinSo is it the parents then that are poor at policing their children or
are videogame and movie producers going a tad too far with the content
of their games? What about movies? Do you notice that since the mid
1970's, movies have taken a mightly violent turn for the worse? Why do
you think that violence has replaced the many musicals of the 1940's
50's and 60's?
Moulin Rouge and Chicago came out and many young people
didn't even know how to relate to it. What do you think is happening
here?

None of them. Taking extreme measures like banning violent games is rather anti-pedagogic. A child has to be aware of everything and know the consequences of everything. A child also has to learn to make decisions for itself and be responsible for the consequences of those decisions. Things should not be presented in black and white because they are seldom are.

I know a person that as a child was forbidden to watch tv, play video games and socialize with neighbour children because parents thought it would corrupt him. That person is absolutely social-inept right now and is incapable of being a self-sufficient individual, because he was overprotected and constantly monitored as a child.

The reports can be improved in many ways. The form itself could use some modifications
It could be something like this

Motivation : a menu box with options
1. douplicate version
2. poor quality
3. inappropriate material
4. wrong category
5. wallpaper rip-off
6. other

Under the motivation box there could be a textarea so the submitter could include
1. the url or urls of the duplicated version, I personally have come across at least three versions of the same scan and not only once.
2. any other motivation that is not in the list
3. any other comment he/she might have.

Also something about chii replays to the reports, in form of pm they are rather useless. They don’t give me any information at all. They only include that the certain report under a certain serial has been preceded. That serial has practically no point since it doesn’t tell me what item exactly the report is about and what happened to it, ie I still don’t know if the report was taken care of or rejected due some reasons. If it will remain in this form it’s better off to be a simple notification.

For me chii reports would be more valuable if they would return the query I had submitted along with comment 'matter resolved' or 'request rejected for such and such reason'

Lastly about scan/wallpapers been deleted and their owners. I think notifications of such action should have more specific reasoning and not just generic list of possible causes. I see many people complaining about their scan been deleting and sometimes they are complaining for completely wrong reason. So I think that if a scan was deleted due poor quality it should state that it was deleted because of that and if scan was deleted because there was better scan it should also provide link to the better scan. That will reduce the complaining a bit.....I think.

Thing is this probably will require quite a bit of modifications in the code for it to work properly and not burden moderators with more task that is currently require.

EDIT.01

Something else, I think that the scan submitters should be forced to tell whenever they scanned the image or not, I see a lot of scans that don't say anything about who scanned it - a simple 'my scan' or 'not my scan' would be enough - and when I come across of two identical scans if given the option I would rather to report the one that wasn’t scanned by the submitter.

f

Quote by VaporGeckoWell I didn't mean it like that, more of "Keep your eyes above the
valley" sort of comment. Plus, if your never makeing eye contact while
you talk or whatever, it makes you seem either A) unattentive, or B)
very uncomfortable. Learn to walk up to folks and look them in the
face, not down at your feet or away from them, this is key to both
improving your image, and building up an aura of confidence around you.

Never making eye contact is one thing and staring in other person eye to create 'meaningful' silence is another. I find the later utterly pretentious and unnecessary.

f

Ah, no flowers and chocolate please, flowers make me feel really uncomfortable and obligated. Also, I really dislike when the guy start staring in my eyes in long silence, god, please anything but that.

I agree with miketo about been yourself, pretending to be someone else won't work very well in long run.

f

Something that would be nice is to have a text area in the report form instead of input box. The input box is kind of tiny.

*sidenote* the 'Other Gallery Entries from....' link is still not functioning properly globaly*sidenote*
